About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown white Italian art glass bowl with “Scavo” surface. Documented, and fully signed by designer Alfredo Barbini. The signature reads "Barbini Murano" underneath. Made with an acid textured outside surface, creating a crackle pattern. Would make a great display piece on any desk or side table. Use it as a catchall, or candy dish. Mid-century era. Measures: 5 7/8" long x 5 7/8" wide x 3" tall.

Alfredo Barbini
Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
