"Nude with Dove, " Rare Art Deco Bowl by Nylund for Rorstrand
About the Item
Before he became known for his organic forms and gorgeous glazes for the famous Rorstrand ceramic works in Sweden, Gunnar Nylund designed a line of very fine Art Deco pieces in what he called a "flambe" glaze: rich browns and deep greens highlighted with gold. This bowl, designed by Nylund and decorated by Olson, is a fine and rare example. Nylund worked for Rorstrand from 1931 to 1958.
