Wilhelm Kåge Pair of "Surrea" Bowls by Gustavsberg, Sweden

About the Item

Pair of white Carrara glazed 'Surrea' (meaning 'surreal' in Swedish) bowls from the 'Guldsurrea' series by Wilhelm Kåge, designed in 1936. The Surreau series designs are characteristic because of their different counterbalance shape and therefore unique and very recognizable. The rare vases and bowls are undecorated or hand-painted in gold. The objects are extremely decorative and internationally valued collector's items. 'Surrea' series was made at Gustavsberg Sweden. This pair of bowls from Gustavsberg Studio Hand (stamped accordingly to underside, see pictures) is hand painted in a golden decor and are highly decorative.
