First Period Worcester Leaf Dish, 1765-1770

First Period Worcester Leaf Dish, 1765-1770 These large vine leaf shaped dishes were made as a component within a dessert service to serve sweetmeats and comfits. The much smaller vine leaves tend to be pickle dishes. The double cabbage leaf dishes were used as both stands and serving dishes. Additional information: Date : c1765-70 Period : George III Marks : None Origin : England Colour : Polychrome Pattern : Decorated with a large floral spray and numerous floral sprigs Features : Twig handle Saucer Size : 6 cm tall and 24 cm long Condition : Excellent, no chips or cracks Restoration : Old restoration to the rim and foot rim as shown.
