Worcester First Period Gilded Pattern Early Porcelain Bowl
About the Item
A very fine and unusual English Worcester First or Dr Wall Period porcelain bowl with molded shape with finely applied gilded and blue designs dating between 1751 and 1783. The bowl stands raised on a wide round deep foot rim with a recessed base and is of round shallow construction with a raised shaped and fluted top rim. The inner bowl is finely decorated with gilded panelling containing floral designs picked out in blue with gilding arranged around a small central single stylized floral bloom set within a gilded border. The bowl has the customary underglaze blue crescent mark to the base.
Provenance: acquired in the British Art Market.
In good condition with customary age rubbing to the gilded finish.
