Antique 18c/19c English or French Enamel Bronze Mounted Tea Caddy Box

About the Item

A fine antique enamel tea caddy. With a gilt bronze mounted lid. In the South Staffordshire manner. Decorated with floral sprays and rocaille swags to all sides. Likely French or made by the English for the French Market. Simply a wonderful tea caddy! Date: Late 18th or early 19th century Overall Condition: It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition. The mount has been re-secured and has spots of corrosion and losses to the gilding here and there. The interior of the box shows significant amounts of overpaint, the exterior of the box has fissures and losses to the body's corners and edges, a few spots of overpaint, possible repairs to the base as well as enamel losses to the corners.
