An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Russian silver box; an addition to our Russian silverware collection This exceptional antique Russian silver spice box has a rectangular form with rounded corners. The surface of this silver box is plain and unembellished. The two hinged hallmarked covers each have a subtle protruding thumbpiece and open to reveal the original gilt interiors. The hallmarks struck to the interior of this antique Russian box include: Maker's mark: ?? (untraced) Assay mark: ?.?, 1854 (Andrey Antonovich Kovalsky/?????? ????????? ?????????) Silver quality/purity mark: 84 (84 zolotniks*) City Mark: Moscow, Russia 84 zolotniki is equivalent to 875/1000 or .875 standard silver Condition This antique Russian silver box is an exceptional gauge of silver for its type, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition in keeping with age. The Russian hallmarks struck to the interior of the base and covers are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this antique Russian silverware.     An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Austro-Hungarian silver spice tower; an addition to our silver Judaica collection. This exceptional antique Austro-Hungarian silver spice box has been modelled in the form of a tower. The cuboid shaped spice box is ornamented with exceptional silver filigree work within a plain arched frame. This impressive vessel is fitted with a hinged door embellished with contemporary engraved initials. The upper portion of this impressive antique silver spice tower is embellished with four articulating flag designs encompassing a tapering paneled chute. The tower's chute is ornamented with further filigree and rope twist decoration and terminating with a scalloped knop to an undulating guidon shaped flag. The spice compartment surmounts a plain wirework style pedestal, accented with a further scalloped knop. The square shaped foot is ornamented with filgree decoration and supported by four plain semi-spherical feet.
