Stunning and great condition, brass Secessionist box with amazing inlay and the original key.
There are -for good reasons- collectors of the Viennese Secession Style in almost every country on this globe. The finesse of the workmanship, the quality of the materials and the stunning designs have a universal appeal when it comes to their sheer beauty and elegance. This rare jewelry box (or casket) is finished in wood and brass and it opens to reveal a purple velvet lining. The center of the perfect dome top is inlaid with brass roses and rose leafs and a variety of other stylised flower patterns all around. This rare antique also comes with the original key (lock is in working order) and it too is a perfect example of the finest of Viennese workmanship. Turning otherwise ordinary objects into true works of art is what this style period has brought to the world.
