Extraordinary "Sevres-style" Antique English Gilt Enamel Etui or Necessaire

About the Item

Very fine and rare antique English Gilt Enamel Etui or Necessaire Etui or Necessaire is an ornamental box which houses manicure tools or needles. This one is attributed to being made in the South Staffordshire region of the UK. The extraordinary neoclassical painting is very much in the style of the "Sevres" factory (but not attributed to them). Bilston & Battersea made boxes/cases such as this one. Please note, manicure tools are not included (and missing from Etui). Pristine condition.
