About the Item

A Stylish Example of a Fine Single Bohemian Hand Cut Crystal White Enamel Lusters or Candlestick of outstanding quality and of standard proportions. Third Quarter of the Nineteenth Century, possibly earlier. With unusual trumpet form support with wavy rim, all ending on a circular gilt enameled base suspending ten crystal triangular prisms with diamond cut detail at tips of each prism. Condition: Exceptional condition, for such an early piece, possibly never used, no losses anywhere, all prisms are perfect. Light wear to gilding, original wiring still present. Height: (entire as shown on image) 9.75" (25cm). Diameter: (top rim) 5” (12.75cm). Location: Dublin City, Ireland.

    An exceptionally fine example of an early 19th century pair of English Regency neoclassical single light full lead hand cut candlesticks lustres with crisp diamond cut bulbous columns above circular star cut bases, firmly attributed to John Blades of Five Ludgate Hill, London. First quarter of the 19th century. The waisted formed diamond cut crystal nozzles above a circular petal rimmed tray suspended with spear cut prisms each on single circular facet buttons. Condition: Superb condition for such early pieces, just a few flea bites at prism tips. Nice evidence of age wear at bases underneath, one circular tray has a hairline which is not easy to see, see image. Measures: Height: (entire as shown image one) 10" (25.5cm).
