Pair of French Empire Candelabra, ca 1820

About the Item

These pair of candelabra are very unusual with the cut crystal bases. Glass was one of the most expensive materials in these times and therefore exclusive. The usual way you see these type of candelabra is with a gilt or patinated bronze base. The cut crystal glass give a lightness to them and makes them fly. The quality of the casting is exquisite as well as the gilding itself.
