19th Century English Plate and Horn Candlesticks and Large Cut-Glass Inkwell

About the Item

These fine desk accessories are made in England in the 19th century. Crafted from Sheffield silver plate on brass and mounted with deer horn the set typifies the Victorian love and nature and manufacture combined to express England's dominance of the industrial revolution. While the pieces have no makers marks they are well-made and conceived. The combine the skills and talents of a wide range of craftsmen and would have been expensive as decorative elements in the day they were made. The dimension given is the tallest on the inkwell the candlesticks dimension are 3.50 in diameter and 5.50 inches tall.     Wear consistent with age and use. The ink well had a one time and leather wrapped handle this wrapping is not gone completely but is silver plated underneath.
