Swedish 19th Century Wood Long Case/Floor Clock in Taupe, Grey and Green Colors

About the Item

A Swedish 19th century clock. This painted wood clock features a nicely carved crest with an urn in its center. The neck is decorated with an exquisite fruit basket motif in its center. This clock retains it's original metal face, hands and movement. The single hinged door opens from left to right with an unusual brass ring pull. The clock is raised on four small bun feet. The clock has a taupe or green color with a green trim. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object and is not currently in working condition, but can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful. A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind the glass opening.
