19th C. Swedish Long-Case Clock w/Beautifully Pillowing Belly & Nice Proportions

About the Item

A Central Swedish long-case floor clock, scraped to it's original wood finish, from the 19th century. This antique floor clock from central Sweden is a very attractive clock with it's beautifully pillowing belly, and nice proportions. It has a carved fan crest atop it's rounded head, hand-painted numbers on it's face, and molded trim details accentuate it's neck and underside of the belly. This clock is presented upon a flat base. The scraped finish returns it to it's natural wood finish, which is complimented with a custom gray/blue paint accent trim. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object as it is not currently in working condition. However, for an additional cos, the clock can be quartzed to keep perfect time (please inquire prior to purchase). A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. Its original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. This clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful). A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind its glass opening. This 19th century clock from Central Sweden would be quite a welcoming piece in an entry foyer, living room, or kitchen.
