18th Century French Gilt Bronze & Marble Clock By Rouvière A Paris c.1780

About the Item

Crafted in France during the late 18th century, around 1790-1800, the "Venus Et Amour" mantel clock epitomizes the elegance of the Louis XVI style. Carved from pristine white marble and adorned with lavish gilt bronze accents, this exquisite timepiece exudes timeless sophistication. Its enamel dial boasts meticulous minute and hour indicators, while three keyholes facilitate the winding of its intricate mechanism. Bearing the signature "Rouvière A PARIS," the clock is ensconced within a captivating case embellished with cherubic putti, a graceful lady figure, and ornate foliage motifs. A commemorative plaque graces its marble pedestal, adding a final touch of refinement to this splendid masterpiece. CONDITION In Great Condition - Wear expected with age. Please refer to photographs.
