Antique French Wall Clock Japy Freres - Fully Working

About the Item

A charming antique French wall clock by the famous maker Japy Freres. Beautifully modelled with leafy scrolls and flowers and painted with gold lacquer with the flowers picked out in silver and black. The lacquer has mellowed and faded beautifully with the passage of time together with marks and chips. The dial is porcelain enamel with blued steel hands. Originally a mechanical movement by the famous maker Japy Freres, this was mostly missing. Our clock maker has skillfully fitted a modern quartz battery movement for reliability and convince while keeping the beautiful original hands and the winding shaft for an authentic look. The finish is chipped, marked and faded. A hook is provided to hang the clock Height is 10 3/4 inches.
