Rare neoclassical style French giltwood clock and barometer set
French, 19th century
Measures: Height 90cm, width 38cm, depth 12cm
This duo comprises a wall clock and barometer, both of which are crafted from giltwood in the Louis XVI style. Each features a shaped case surmounted by an ornate crown and appended below by a pinecone drop finial, all carved giltwood. The case is richly detailed with foliate swags and other typically Louis XVI style forms. Each is inset with a circular white enamel dial: the clock dial inscribed with time marks and the barometer dial with weather conditions.
