Unique, Large and Hand Carved Gothic Revival Carillon Sound Wall Clock, ca 1900

About the Item

Stunning clock for the collectors of rare and truly stylish Gothic antiques. Gothic wall clocks are a rare find and this more than three feet tall specimen probably is the best and the tallest we have ever seen. All hand-crafted & hand-carved around the turn of the century this Gothic church-like antique is elaborate, but in a very stylish manner. It comes with an abundance of perfectly hand-carved Gothic elements and the stained oak color makes it even more impressive and mediëval looking. The church window like front and the sides with their bookpage panel carvings, the church tower finials atop, but also the hand-carved Gothic pattern at the bottom are just some of the Gothic elements that together paint the picture of this amazing work of time telling art. This one of a kind antique also comes with the original glass panels intact. Inside, on a wooden bracket rests the original and perfect working, brass, eight day clock mechanism with an enamelled dial face, the original brass Gothic arms and the wood and brass pendulum. This remarkable Gothic wall clock runs smoothly with a low-noise tic-toc. The mechanism strikes on the whole hours and on the half hours and quarters with a Westminster carillon 'ringtone' sound and it even comes with the original Gothic key for winding both the clock and striking mechanism. As you can see in one of our images there even is a switch inside with which you can turn of the carillon sound. This unique and mint condition clock is great value for money. Also, because perfect packing & worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days are complimentary. Maximum height x width x depth: 41.5 x 13.3 x 7.9 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again).
