Rare & Large Antique Hand Carved Gothic Revival Wall Clock w. Lenzkirch Movement

About the Item

Large and impressive clock with an abundance of Gothic details. Gothic wall clocks make great decorative antiques and this turn of the century specimen, in our view, has the perfect size and design to use and enjoy in any Gothic (inspired) interior. All hand-crafted & hand-carved in circa 1900 this striking antique (no pun intended) is a great example of the quality of the workmanship of the European craftsman in that era. This one of a kind clock comes with an abundance of Gothic and Medieval details from the spike tower top to the stylized trefoil symbols at the bottom and over the many decades it has also grown a marvelous patina. The Gothic details are not only in the carvings, they can also be found in the pure Gothic dial face and hands. The perfectly symmetrical dial face comes with 12 stylized church window patterns pointing to each hour on the dial face. And the blackened brass dial hands with their quatrefoil symbols, Gothic leaf patterns and Gothic spikes at the ends make telling time from further away easy as well. Also, because they contrast perfectly against the lighter background. Inside and easy to take out of the 'clock-house' rests the antique and perfect working, predominantly brass, eight day clock mechanism. In one of our photos you can also see the original spiral gong that creates a marvelously warm gong sound. This clock runs smoothly with a very low-noise tic-toc, but its rich gong sound, on the whole and once on the half hours, you will not miss. However, if you don't like the sound of a rich gong, you can simply turn it of. Finally, an antique key for winding both the clock and striking mechanism is included. Our fair price for this impressive Gothic antique includes perfect packing and also worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days. Maximum height x width x depth: 40.5 x 17 x 8 inches. Diameter of the pure Gothic dial face: 9 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again).
