Rebeca Cors
Rebeca Cors is a modern furniture designer offering a fresh perspective on the interplay between utility and art. She creates abstract sculptures as well as sculptural stools and side tables designed to bring art into everyday life. Each piece is made out of beautiful natural materials like wood, obsidian and marble, all imbued with a sense of balance and harmony.
Cors was born in Mexico in 1988. She graduated from the Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad de México with a degree in industrial design in 2010, in addition to earning a design certificate from New York University in 2009. She founded her company, CORS by Rebeca Cors, in 2012, and spent time studying studio art at Central Saint Martins in London in 2013.
Cors seeks to preserve traditional crafting practices and create pieces that showcase and treasure her culture. All the sculptures and furniture produced by CORS are handmade by skilled Mexican artisans using local materials.
Cors has exhibited extensively in her home country, including at Design Week México and the Zona Maco contemporary art fair. She has participated in Milan Design Week, Venice Design Week and NYCxDESIGN.
In 2021, Cors was named an Architectural Digest Design Icon and was listed on the AD100. That same year, she was awarded the Interceramic Award.

- ARIA TOTEM I, by Rebeca CorsBy Rebeca CorsLocated in Ciudad de México, CDMXI. ABOUT REBECA CORS Rebeca Cors (México, 1988). Her work oscillates between sculpture and utility object, studying the limits and meeting points between these two concepts. The intention of her work is to question paradigms in order to reinterpret objects from It’s established forms.? As a result, her practice approaches sculpture as: Abstract Sculpture - and - Utility Sculpture. The materialized compositions embody simplicity and balance, inspired by anthropometric proportions and nature’s forms. Simplicity is not a lack of content – but the synthesis of the complex. A balanced and simple composition conveys peace. The art work’s origin comes from a place of inner peace, the materials and hands that materialize the piece add the same intention – as a result, the works emanate and propagates this serenity. Human beings surround themselves with objects through their existence, some for simple necessity or function, and -these others- that virtuate the space they inhabit, transmitting emotions that words simple fall short to describe; emotions that lead us to a state of contemplative meditation, in which the world around us seems to disappear for an instant, time vanishes and we enter this intimate human-object ritual, where a dialogue with the sculptural piece begins, words are not necessary. All hand-made in Mexico. All Mexican...Category

- Hot Desk 2, Berlin, by Russell Bamber, 2018, Colored Laminate on Ply StructureBy Russell BamberLocated in London, GBEach plane of Hot Desk 2 is laminated in high pressure laminate. Each surface is a different color, and in perfect condition. Hot Desk 2 is an eye catching centre-piece sculptural unit that can be used as a reception desk. Hot Desk 2-Berlin teeters on the edge of design, painting and architecture; selecting and employing elements freely and playfully to suggest function and familiarity. It is made to invigorate a space, to bring unexpected joy and dynamism to our lives, bringing a new and exciting twist to the space it occupies. Hot Desk 2-Berlin suggests function, and is functional, but its function is also to tease and beguile. The mischievous use of color and surface seduces the viewer into joyful excitement and further blur the boundaries of sculpture and design. Its dimensions are domestic but its forms create a frisson; a frisson that encourages the user to make a decision about their physical journey through a space (much as a kissing gate...Category
