Midcentury Fire Screen Olle Hermansson, Husqvarna Cast Iron the Thunder God Tor

About the Item

Midcentury Swedish fire screen by Olle Hermansson for Husqvarna made in cast iron. It can both be placed either as a fire screen or a sculpture. The fire screen is 48 cm high and 50 cm wide. It is in very good condition and seems to never have been used. It is signed OH which stands for Olle Hermansson. The motif of the fire screen is from the Nordic Mythology with the thunder god Tor and the two goats Tanngnjost och Tanngrisner who pulls his chariot across the firmament. Due to the Nordic Mythology do he swings the hammer when he is angry so that the thunder thunders.
