Swedish Art Deco Upasla Ekeby Art Pottery Mermaid Flower Frog by Einar Luterkort

About the Item

A fine Swedish Art Deco art pottery flower frog. Designed by Einar Luterkort (1905-1981) for the Upasla Ekeby. In the form of an orange glazed mermaid figure seated on a vanilla cream colored half sphere flower frog with 6 openings. Luterkort is often connected with Stig Lindberg and was commissioned to do public works in Sweden. This design dates to the earlier part of his time (1930s) at Upsala Ekeby. Simply a wonderful piece of Deco pottery! Date: Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Condition Details: There is some light crazing and staining throughout. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
