Amphora Art Deco Elephant & Lion Porcelain Group, Czechoslovakia

About the Item

Large Amphora porcelain figural group featuring two lionesses attacking an elephant. The figure of extraordinary size measuring 66.5cm High (26.18inches) featuring a large elephant stood upon a rocky outcrop fighting off two lionesses. The figure of lovely colour and detail stamped to the base multiple times with an embossed amphora logo within an oval cartouche, model number 8263 3, a second stamped logo with Amphora to the centre and made in Czechoslovakia and a third mark reading VI. The figure dating to the Art Deco period circa 1920. Measurements in cm 6.5cm High x 40cm Wide x 28cm Deep.

The tea server cast in silver plate and shaped as a squat form jug with a viewing window to the front below the word Tea in capital letters. The jug opens from the top by sliding the lid across the handle allowing the user to fill the jug full of loose leaf tea.
