Pair of 19th Century Swiss Black Forest Carved Walnut Hunt Trophies Sculptures
About the Item
These elegant antique wall plaques were crafted in the Alps of Switzerland, circa 1880. The trophies compositions are displayed on a scalloped board decorated with leaf motifs around the edges. Each plaque features two beautifully hand carved hunting partridges and curlew in high relief, with legs tied at the top with a ribbon bow. Both sculptures are in excellent condition, with exquisite detailed carvings, and adorn a rich walnut patina. The decorative wall plaques would make a great addition to any rustic hunting lodge, a ranch house, or simply hang in a man's office.
