Large Antique Art Nouveau Austrian Porcelain Female Sculpture or Bust

About the Item

This large and very well executed antique porcelain bust is presumed to have been made in Austria in circa 1890 in the period Art Nouveau style. The bust does have a very faint and illegible signature on the rear of the base, but the artist could not be identified and is posted as 'Unknown'. The bust depicts a demure female in muted pastel tones, and wearing a gown and sash around her head. She is extensively decorated with flowers and various fruit which are highly detailed as are the folds and beading on her dress. The dress also has a series of well done hand painted flowers, likely cherry blossoms down the front of her gown. This sculpture shows no damage and has undergone some professional minor restoration as some of flower decoration and edges of her dress were broken.
