Pair of Antique German or Austrian Porcelain Female Figurines Harvesting Grapes

About the Item

This pair of antique porcelain figurines are marked on their respective bases, but the specific maker cannot be identified. It is presumed this pair of figurines was made in either Germany or Austria in circa 1895 in the period Victorian style. The figurines are extremely detailed in their molding and hand painted decoration from the faces of the women, the clothing and the settings. The figurines depict women possibly picking grapes or celebrating their harvest. Each of the figurines are done in vibrant colors and both are marked on the bottom with a stylized "R" and possibly a 'C', and a model number of "588" but again the maker could not be identified.
