19th Century French Two-Piece Carved Pine Sculpture on Base with Glass Eyes
About the Item
This large two-piece antique female statue on base was crafted in Normandy, France, circa 1820. Made of pine wood, the tall figure depicts a religious figure woman in adoration standing, her arms are crossed over her heart; the sculpture is resting on a separate base resembling a cloud. The important figure has beautiful lines and fine carvings especially on the robe, hair and facial details; she is embellished with bright blue glass eyes, which gives the statue a special presence. The tall woman sculpture is in excellent condition with a rich light pine finish and some old white paint accents throughout.
