Exquisite rare contemporary large three-piece porcelain Japanese lantern, intricately hand-painted in cobalt blue underglaze on an elegantly shaped body, a signed masterpiece by highly acclaimed master porcelain artist from the historic Imari-Arita region of Japan and recipient of numerous awards for his exceptional porcelain work and his unique gold and platinum work on porcelain. In 2016, the British Museum added a work by this artist to its collection of contemporary Japanese Porcelain in thr Imari-Arita polychrome enamel tradition. The artist's profile is available upon request. This breathtakingly beautiul piece showcases rocky shorelines with cliffs and old pine trees gracefully reaching out all the way to the clouds, with distant mountain peaks as the background. The natural scenery of vast mountains and flowing rivers expresses a calm and mysterious world far from the busy life of the modern world. This exquisite porcelain Japanese lantern comes in a custom-made wooden case signed by the artist. Dimensions: H 33.5 in D 27 in.
