Bronze mounted on Portor marble, Triple platinum. Old cast iron.
Signed on the dress Getekend D.H “Ganu” Gantcheff, 1931
Dimensions including the terrace:
H: 35cm, L: 45 cm, W: 18cm (13.8x17.7x7.1 inches)
Small accident on the base.
The sculptor Ghanu Gantcheff emigrated from Bulgaria in 1920 and enjoyed great success upon his arrival. In 1930 he exhibited at the very select Salon des Artistes at the Grand Palais. He will produce very few works.
This dancing Ballerina selected by Marie-Antoinette is certainly one of his most lovely creation.
