Four Art Deco stools from 1921, mahogany veneered wood trimmed with leather.
About the Item
Four Art Deco stools, mahogany veneered wood trimmed with leather.
Small accidents. 49x43x39.5 cm.
French work 1921.
These stools fit perfectly into the Art Deco style with pure, straight and geometric lines echoing cubist painting.
We are here, with these stools, at the beginning of Art Deco. Even if it began in 1900, its development stopped abruptly because of the First World War.
The name “Art Deco” appeared much later to define this style, during an exhibition curated by Yvonne Brunhammer in 1966 at the Paris Museum of Decorative Arts.
Our four Art Deco stools from 1921, are quite unique with mahogany veneered wood trimmed with leather.
