Notes
Giovanni Lauro Malusi was born in Cervia on July 8, 1922. He graduated in Cello in 1947 at the Monteverdi Music Conservatory of Bolzano. Several years of intense activity followed, both in terms of music teaching and concert activity and study. He won some Cello and Cello competitions at the Music Institutes of Alghero (Sassari) in 1948, Cesena (1967). Over the decades he has been part of symphonic lyric orchestras in Genoa, Cagliari, Verona, Siena, Piacenza, Florence, Rovigo and Switzerland in Zurich.
In the last years of his life he has taught at Giuseppe Musical Institute and Luigi Malerbi of Lugo. For this institute published in 1984 a catalog of works preserved in the "Malerbi Fund".
In addition to intense concert activity Malusi has published many books, essays and articles on music history. His book "The Cello", published in Padua in 1973, was adopted as a textbook in various Italian and foreign music conservatives.
Malusi collaborated with some newspapers, magazines and periodicals. These include: "The New Sardinia" in Cagliari, "Lodi" Arts, "La Piè", "Romagna Art and History", "The Title", as well as various Cervical periodicals. Malusi participated in the activities of the Società di Studi Romagnoli.
