Illusion Sanctuary Projection Table Lamp
Located in London, GB
Illusion Sanctuary is an ode to French architectural theorist Etienne-Louis Boullée's monument to Newton. A spiritual shrine that turns out was impossible to build. Shaw Liu finds inspiration in this unrealised architecture, particularly its spherical body, which was intended to mimic the effects of day and night. It is the balanced art of light, dark and the in between. This art deco light features a stout, mirrored body, an exploration of the tangible and intangible. Reflections are phantom-like and can be inconsistent. Almost hallucinogenic, Sanctuary's hollow dome symbolises the eternal spirit of Newton. As a table or floor light, it projects a golden halo upwards. Whilst the bulb itself is the source of light, it is not incandescent. This piece is an original design in Shaw’s series, she would later go on to create Sol Sanctuary which features a traditional, luminous opaline and alabaster light bulb. Reminiscent of light bollards, crafted in hand-polished stainless steel. It is made to be paired with a handcrafted glass bulb which helps project the light upwards. Striking and truly distinctive, it belongs in the company of equally remarkable objects, including the homes of the audacious, and as lighting for art studios. Shaw Liu crafted this monument as she believes everyone deserves to have a cenotaph within their midst. A monument dedicated to the purest part of one's soul, which can continue to live on. • Rooted in architectural design • Ideal for the bedroom or living area • Projection lamp.

Reflections are phantom-like and can be inconsistent. Almost hallucinogenic, Sanctuary's hollow dome symbolises the eternal spirit of Newton, whilst its light is akin to a glowing moon. Best placed as a floor lamp, its interior becomes aglow with the orb sat within it. This piece is an evolution of Sanctuary Illusion, which features a projecting light bulb. Reminiscent of light bollards, crafted in hand-polished stainless steel. It is made to be paired with an alabaster bulb which mimics the texture and façade of a full moon. A robust and milky mineral prized by Egyptians, it becomes aglow with its distinct pattern. Striking and truly distinctive, it belongs in the company of equally remarkable objects, including the homes of the audacious, and as lighting for art...

Chrysalis White Alabaster Ebony Soapstone UV Lighted Metaphysical Sculpture
Located in Chattanooga, TN
"Chrysalis" is based on the shape of a tulip bud and handcrafted from white alabaster, ebony soapstone and green fluorite. One might also interpret the bud as a shell or cocoon. This shape represents a vessel for life, an opportunity for rebirth and transformation. A chrysalis is the pupal stage from which a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly. The base of the bud holds a special secret, a single UV LED diode an ethereal glow, activating the stone and acting as a beacon to draw the viewer in a sacred, transformative, space. Day and night. Duality exists within us all. “Chrysalis” is a sculpture and a healer. In its dormant (unlit) state, the white alabaster cleanses its surroundings, draws spirit to you and evokes forgiveness. This can be internal or external forgiveness. The green fluorite stone at center neutralizes negative energy. Press the switch to initiate the UV light. Like a moth to a flame. The light magnifies the stones power. "Chrysalis" was created by multi-disciplinary artist, Jackie W. Hailing from New York, the classically trained artist explores themes around the genesis of life and our connection to nature and one another. Recent work has focused on sculpture in steel, stone, and found materials natural materials. This sculpture is battery powered and operates on a switch. Measures: 5" wide x 4.75" deep x 10" high Condition: New, created 2021. The black soapstone...
