This piece was a private commission at the beginning of the century, as the engraved initials can be seen. The entire surface is finely decorated with floral motifs, seed beads and harriots. In addition, the mouth of the jug simulates the beak of a duck, something that denotes the love for organic forms in Art Nouveau. At the bottom of the piece you can see the "KAYSERZINN" brand, a German metallurgy company founded in 1862, very prominent and prestigious in the context of the time. The brand items are numbered from the (fictitious) number 4000 onwards, marked with the word Kayserzinn next to it; just as seen on this tankard.
