An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Russian silver posy holder; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. This exceptional antique Russian silver posy holder has a knopped, conical shaped form onto three legs. The surface of the holder has a frosted finish and is embellished with impressive engraved floral designs to the cylindrical portion. The upper portion of the body is further ornamented with two applied bands of bead ornamentation. This impressive Russian posy holder is supported by three hinged legs, each embellished with interlacing scrolling, paralleling engraved decoration. The feet conjoin once closed to form a ball motif, emanating the knopped terminal to the body. This antique posey holder retains the original pin and belcher chain; the featured pin penetrates the holder allowing a posy / nosegay / tussie-mussie to be held securely. The interior of this impressive example of antique silverware retains the original gilding. The hallmarks to this fine Russian vase include: Maker's mark: ???
