Antique Art Deco Bronze Enameled / Cloisonné Vase with Deer & Monkey Sculpture

About the Item

Rare and highly decorative bronze Art Deco vase, possibly by Raymond Chevalier. Striking and colorful Art Deco vase. When we first saw this remarkable, all hand-crafted vase we were certain we had seen in before, possibly in a book somewhere. Because of its unique design and rare use of materials combined with the bronze deer sculpture at the center of the front and back, we believe that this could be a very rare vaze by Raymond Chevalier or one of the other great European designers. We have looked in some of the Art Deco books that we have and on the worldwide web, but we still have not found another one. On the one hand that is a good thing, on the other it is difficult to determine who designed it, where it was hand-crafted and how rare this vase is. What we are certain of is that it is marvelous both in design, graphics and colors and it is a work of beauty that will look great no matter where you decide to have it on display. There is a vibrance about this work of art (deco) that literally transforms the space this vase is in. Our price for this unique antique includes perfect packing (in a custom made box) and also worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days. Maximum height x width x depth 9.8 x 8.1 x 5.9 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again). You can shop all our 1000+ listings by pushing the button that reads 'View All From Seller'.

  • Antique and Largest Ever Malay Brunei Ritual Bronze Kettle w. Animal Sculptures
    Located in Lisse, NL
Stunning 'Asian tribal art' festivity and ritual vessel with Chinese influences. This amazingly ornate, meaningful and highly decorative antique is entirely handcrafted and made of bronze. When you look at all the rare decorations, the sheer size and the stunning bronze patina of this early 1900s water kettle then you would almost forget to think about how difficult it must have been circa 1900 to get the raw materials and the tools to actually be able to create a piece like this. This bronze spouted vessel comes with a wide variety of real animals, but one can also see the Chinese influence in the Malay region, because this antique also has large dragons on either side, a Buddhist temple lion on top and possibly also a dragon's head from which the actual spout emerges (image 15 and 16). This antique water kettle...

  • Enormous and Great Condition Antique Bronze Morter and Pestle w. Satyr Sculpture
    Located in Lisse, NL
Impressive, sculptural and highly decorative, 19th century morter. This near bucket-size morter is the largest and heaviest we have seen and owned to date and this wonderful antique is in excellent condition. Today they are mostly known for use in the kitchen, but in 19th century Europe these were mostly used by doctors, pharmacists and chemists for grinding and mixing substances into powders, for medicinal purposes. This all handcrafted eye catcher comes with a satyr (or sater) sculpture on the front and back and the handles are like gargoyles or grotesk busts. To give you a better idea of its large size we have placed a regular size antique morter next to it. This largest ever morter must have been owned and used by one very successful medicine making business, because with this giant morter one could produce a whole lot in one go. This rare and stunning morter will make great decoration (or educational material) in a doctor's office, in a pharmacy or any other place where medicine and healing are the main focus of attention. No matter where you decide to have this antique on display, it will never fail to impress. Mind you, our fair price for this handcrafted, solid bronze, rare, impressive, stylish and meaningful antique even includes perfect packing and also worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just 4 days.
