Copeland Imari Pattern Porcelain Twin Handled Vase and Cover
About the Item
A stunning antique porcelain urn shaped twin handled vase and cover decorated in an Imari pattern by Copeland, England and dating from the early 20th century. The vase stands raised on a square pedestal foot with a narrow stem and egg-shaped body with a raised narrow top and mounted with a domed cover with bud finial. Handles are applied to the sides of the body. The vase is exquisitely decorated in the Imari palette in shades of orange and pink set against a cobalt blue ground with extensive gilding. The vase is decorated with scrolling leaf designs with gilded ridging to the stem and top of the vase and with molded leaves around the lower body. The vase has a band of smaller decorative panels around the upper body with gilding to the foot and handles. The cover is similarly decorated and the vase has printed makers marks to the base.
In good condition with light wear associated with age and use.
