Erwin Eisch German Pfauenauge Collection Cranberry Art Glass Handled Vase

About the Item

A stylish German hand blown art glass handled vase from the 'Pfauenauge' (Peacock Butterfly) collection in cranberry red with yellow 'paint-spot' and bubble inclusions and twin clear glass handle designed by Erwin Eisch made at Glasbläserei Eisch Frauenau between 1975 and 1999. Erwin Eisch (German, b.1927) is considered the pioneer of the Studio Glass Movement in Germany and is considered one of the most renowned European glass designers of the 20th century. This stylish vase has a dome shaped base, funnel shaped neck and wider rounded cup top with an applied double loop handle to the side often referred to as butterfly wing design. The vase has a polished pontil mark to the base and is not signed. In very good condition.
