Japanese Contemporary Blue Black White Porcelain Vase by Master Artist

About the Item

Exquisite museum quality Japanese contemporary hand-glazed decorative porcelain vase in a striking globular shape in blue and black, a mesmerizing masterpiece by highly acclaimed award-winning master artist of the Arita-Imari region of Japan. This artist is a master of yusai techniques involving the multiple layering of different glazes that fuse together in reduction firing to create haunting visions of depth and movement. His profile is available upon request. The unpredictability of the resulting colors and patterns underscores the appeal of his creations. In addition to using precious metals such as gold and platinum to bring greater luminescence to his work, the artist has pioneered the application of ground zirconium to his carefully prepared glazes. This artist's profile is available upon request. In this stunning piece of exceptional beauty and perfection, the artist has used a multiple layering of glazes to create a vision of the mountains that surround his hometown of Arita. The mountains expressed in a brilliant bluish hue are made to stand out from the deep brown/black background by a shimmering band of mist above, drawing on the eerie luminescence of zirconium that has been ground into the glaze. This extraordinary hand-glazed porcelain vase comes in a custom made wooden case signed by the artist. Dimensions: H 11.5 in D 11.5 in.
