Jozefina Glass Works Krosno Polish Vintage Hand Blown Art Glass Vase
About the Item
A stylish hand-blown Polish art glass vase attributed to the Jozefina Glass Makers, Krosno and dating from around 1980.
The Josefina factory was founded in Krosno, Poland in 1980 by Jozef Jankowski, a renowned artist and glass blower. The factory is recognized worldwide as a maker of fine glass produced using traditional techniques.
This elegantly shaped vase stands on a narrow round foot is cased in clear glass with a round bulbous body in the form of a flower bud with a slightly narrowing neck and wide flower shaped top. The vase encases an opaque brown marbled patterned body on an off-white colored ground, as seen to the inside of the vase, with darker brown and black contrasting patterning with fine bubble inclusions. The vase has a flat polished base with a slightly recessed and polished pontil. The jug is not marked.
Provenance: Acquired from the British Art Market.
In fine condition with light wear associated with age and use.
