Two Late Qing Dynasty Cloisonné Enamel and Gilt Bronze Vases
Located in London, GB
The enamel vases in this pair are of ‘garlic head’ form, each sitting on a four-leg, four scrolled foot wooden stand. The vases are of tripartite form. Each vase features a flared neck, an ovoid body, and a pinched stem, and each includes four gilt bronze (ormolu) medallions fashioned into reticulated cloud scroll patterns. Glimpsed through the reticulated medallions of each vase is a smaller, nestled vase, similarly decorated to the external shell. The body of each vase presents a rich blue enamel ground onto which cloisonné enamel motifs, bounded within gold enamel wire, are worked. The motifs are traditional, ranging from lotus scrolls and lotus flowers to ruyi heads, and are executed in a bold green, red, yellow, and pink palette. Upon the neck of each vase are mounted two gilt bronze elephant...

Unique, Sculptural Ceramic Vase in Cream with Black Accents
By Alex Kovacs (b.1992)
Located in New York, NY
This unique, slab-built vase by American-artist Alex Kovacs is titled 'Big Squiggle Vessel' and is exactly that, a Big Squiggle. The wavy-shaped vessel features hand-painted enameled details like star and flame motifs, inspired by the graphic language of contemporary fashion. Very fun and sure to spark conversation, the piece is perfect for displaying a single stem flower or tropical botanical leaf, as well as a small bundle of fresh cut flowers or dried branches. Artist Information: Alex Kovacs (b. 1992) is a self-taught ceramic artist and designer from the Greater Boston Area of Massachusetts. He had his first solo show titled “Endless Vessel” in 2018 with Resort Gallery in Baltimore which led to subsequent shows, “Cartoon Graveyard” in 2019 with SuperDutchess (now BelowGrand) in NYC, “Futures Passed” in 2020 with Paradigm Gallery and “Online/ Offline” in 2021 with New Collectors...

French Ceramic Ball Vase with Nucleations by Monique Cavallini - circa 2000
Located in Camblanes et Meynac, FR
French ceramic ball vase with nucleations by Monique Cavallini - Circa 2000 Very delicately glazed ball vase in soft plant-inspired tones: earthy brown and leafy green. The vase is glazed with nucleations, similar to crystallizations, obtained with hay ash and titanium. The result is beautiful. The vase is in very good condition. It is engraved "M.Cavallini". -------------------- An important centre of French ceramics since Antiquity, Vallauris, located 6km from Antibes on the French Riviera, experienced a major boom at the end of the 19th century thanks to the Massier family of ceramists. At the end of the second world war, painters, sculptors and masters of ceramics settled in Vallauris, starting with Picasso in 1948. He perfected his ceramic technique at the Madoura workshop with Suzanne Ramié. Chagall, Matisse, Cocteau, Miro, Braque, Rouault, Fernand Léger, who came to stay in Vallauris, created a stir in this creative centre. The artistic production with its abstract and geometric decorations, its new textures and its rich modern glazes, will definitively replace the traditional pottery. Alain Maunier...
