Antique 19th Century English Faceted Ruby Red Cut Glass Wine Decanter

About the Item

A fine antique wine decanter. Likely English in origin. In ruby red cut glass with 8 faceted sides, with an applied ring to its neck, and with a conforming stopper. The base has a polished pontil mark and an old sticker. Matching painted 'X's to the decanter's neck and its stopper indicate a matched pair. Simply a wonderful antique decanter in a hard to find color! Date: 19th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition with no cracks or repairs. Condition Details: There are some minor flakes and fritting to the edges of the facets and high points of both body and stopper here and there, some surface wear, and some discernible scratches to the body here and there. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Unmarked Measurements: Height: ca. 11 3/4 in. Diameter: ca. 5 1/8 in.
