Antique Black Forest Carved Liquor Caddy with GNOME, 14.5" tall

Spectacular & RARE antique Victorian era Black Forest hand carved liquor caddy or stand with delightful & large forest gnome figure, ornate foliate base and gorgeous intaglio etched 8pc decanter & cordial set! WOW! What a fantastic piece and rare, rare, rare! Standing a hair under 14.5" tall, the center is graced with a large and completely charming forest gnome figure, complete with overcoat, long bushy beard and stocking cap! The stand is 11 1/4" in overall width, the base carved from a solid block of wood with foliate accenting and ball feet. Carved fixtures to hold two 7 3/4" decanters and six 2 7/8" cordials or goblets, all with a beautiful intaglio etched or engraved floral & foliate decoration and the decanters with facet cut stoppers. We've had great old Black Forest liquor stands and tantalus pieces, normally in the form of a box or a large bear with hooks, etc. for the glassware. This is our FIRST ever featuring a gnome, if that says anything about how rare this piece is. One that is overflowing with visual and decorative appeal, guaranteed to impress! Don't miss it!

Very good condition. As noted in the images, there is a small section missing from one of the carved decanter receptacles/frames (right side of the figure). Several of the figure's fingers have been chipped off and are missing but, as you can see, the rest, including the glassware, is superb! We do have a restoration contact for carving replacements on these old Black Forest pieces and would be happy to get a quote if you would like to have the decanter holder on the right side restored. We'd actually though of doing it before listing but then decided that this one is so rare and, in overall wonderful condition, we'd just offer it as we found it. See pictures for all measurements.

Very good condition, complete. There are slight chips, one thumb, 2 fingertips, and part of one carved 'encirclage' holding a decanter has a section gone, still holds and displays beautifully.
