First Period Worcester Salad or Junket Bowl Pine Cone Pattern

About the Item

This First period Worcester porcelain salad or junket bowl is decorated with the printed blue and white Pine Cone pattern. The central Pine Cone pattern is surrounded by prints of fruit and flowers. On the outside are prints of butterflies, fruit and vegetables, one of which is being feasted on by a snail. The diameter of the bowl is 261 mm (10.25 inches) and it stands 70 mm (2.75 inches) high. Overall it is in very good condition, but it does have two very small firing cracks to the footrim and some faint scratches to the centre. C 1780.

    First Period Worcester Porcelain Holly Berry Pattern Teacup and Saucer, Hop Trellis Pattern, Circa 1775. The First Period Worcester porcelain teacup and saucer has a reeded French shape and is richly decorated with the Holly Berry pattern- a variation of the Hop Trellis pattern. Panels of purple plants alternate with berried foliage between borders of lilac diaper and gold herringbone and a lower border of white pearls on a bright turquoise ground. There are gilt dentil rims and the inside of the cup has flowers and berried sprigs below a gold band.
