Carl-Harry Stalhane, Stoneware Bowl, Handmade Work Rörstrand, Sweden 1950's
About the Item
Carl-Harry Stålhane, Stoneware Bowl with yellow brown glaze, Rörstrand, Sweden 1950's Impressed Handmade
Rörstrand R three crowns Stalhane SWEDEN CI25
The entire piece is covered with a Red brown glaze, over which a double layer of ochre-colored glaze has been applied, blending with each other and creating a complex flow.
The glaze patterns, which look like natural stones and rocks, are so complex and dynamic that you will never get tired of looking at them.
The shape of the bowl is similar to that of a small ash-glazed sealed bowl from the Later Han Dynasty of China, with its flat base, shallowly rising body, and inner rim, and is in fact thought to have been made in reference to this bowl.
Stalhane's work is particularly influenced by old Chinese ceramics, and is often seen in one-of-a-kind pieces that he made in partnership with a craftsman for exhibition.
On the base is his handwritten signature, with the Rorstrand logo, his own handwritten signature, the country name SWEDEN, and the part number C125.
In good condition.
The vessel has been examined by an expert by UV light and visual inspection to ensure that there are no repairs and that it is not twice kiln fired.
