Dorothy Horton Sculptural Ceramic Floor Vase Anthropomorphic "Moon Rock"
About the Item
This sculptural "Moon Rock" is a floor vase by Chicago ceramic artist, Dorothy Horton. It has an anthropomorphic style, as it appears to be a face with a gaping mouth. It has a quirky and friendly quality. Though best viewed from above, it also works on an elevated surface like a low table or cabinet.
Horton studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and taught ceramics classes for many years at the Hyde Park Art Center on the south side of Chicago.
