Pair of Staffirdshire Figures ‘Jobson & Nell’, Enoch Wood, circa 1820

About the Item

Pair of Staffordshire pottery figures, probably Enoch Wood factory, circa 1820. The figures very well modelled as ‘Jobson and Nell’. The seated cobbler repairing a shoe, with a dog beneath his stool. Whilst his wife Nell, pours drink into a cup, from a large jug, and has a cat beneath her stool. Both figures set upon square bases, and decorated in vibrant enamels, beneath a pearlware glaze. Impressed numbers ‘34’, and ‘27’ to the bases. Size: Height 17 cm, 6 5/8”. Width 8 cm, 3 1/8”. Depth 7.7 cm, 3”. Condition: Typical minor wear to the enamel. No damage. No restoration.
