Regency Derby Porcelain Coffee Can hand painted in Trailing Vine Patn, Ca 1825
About the Item
This is a finely hand painted porcelain coffee can made by the Derby factory, England, in the Georgian Regency period of the 19th century, circa 1825
Straight sided coffee cans were only originally made for about the first 25 years of the 19th century and are very collectable.
The can is well potted with a small loop handle having an outer upper thumb spur and an inner small lower spur.
It is finely hand decorated in a trailing vine pattern, with enamels of a deep cobalt blue and gold, with additional gilded detail to the rims and the outer handle.
This piece has the printed Derby Crown in red to the base, together with the 'D' below.
