Gien 1950s French Set of 6 Green Majolica Oyster Plates in Original Wood Box

About the Item

A Mid-Century Modern set of six French Faience oyster plates, circa 1950-1960, signed Gien in glazed barbotine ceramic with textured earth tones of moss green, this set is very special because still in its original organic modern wooden box, traditional in France for transporting real oysters with Gien paper label. The dishes, in perfect excellent condition, are molded with six oyster shapes around a central well designed for lemon or dipping sauce. Dimensions of plates: 9.75 in, diameter x 0.9 height.
