Dino Martens Large AVEM Murano Tutti Frutti Art Glass Dish
About the Item
A stunning and very large vintage Italian Murano Arte Vetrairia Muranese (AVEM) tutti frutti green glass dish by renowned designer Dino Martens (Italian, 1894-1970) and dating from around 1950. The substantial and heavily made dish is of oval shape with an irregular flat polished base and with a raised scallop shaped rim. The inner dish is decorated with brightly colored zanfirico and filigree canes on a scattered silver aventurine ground over a red tinted glass base. The dish is full of color and an exceptional and rare period example of this type of work. Indeed we have never had the pleasure in offering such a substantial and fine example. The dish is not marked.
Provenanve: Acquired from the British Art Market.
Offered in good condition with light surface wear associated with age and use.
