Storyteller: It was Mrs. Priscilla's wealthy socialite mansion on the evening of her annual charity function. People from all around the city had come to show their support, and the atmosphere inside the estate was electric. There was only the best china and cutlery in the ballroom, and a magnificent Moser blue urn with hand-painted gold motifs served as the highlight of the buffet table. As the evening progressed, the visitors enjoyed the many refreshments. Things took a comical turn, however, when one of the guests served themselves and promptly put their spoon into the urn. Visitors grew silent as the spoon clanged loudly against the urn. Yet they were surprised to find that the urn had suffered no damage. Everyone at the party let out a relieved sigh of relief and got back to having fun. But destiny had other plans. A second individual, also inebriated, stumbled and fell upon the table, knocking the urn from its pedestal. As one of the guests snatched the urn out of the air, everyone held their breath. To their pleasant surprise, the urn showed no signs of wear or damage. Yet age had dimmed the gold decoration, and the visitors laughed at the irony. Since that evening, the Moser blue urn has been referred to as Mrs. Priscilla's unbreakable treasure, and partygoers have often joked about shattering their spoons on it or knocking it off its pedestal. It was now a comical talking point and a sobering reminder that even the best things in life may survive the occasional setback. About the storyteller: Consider the storyteller to be a figment of the vendor's imagination. As to how this tale relates to the actual histories of the artifacts on display, that is a mystery. We sincerely hope that you enjoyed the story. with hope and love. Ash

  • Single Goblet Shaped, Gilded and Painted White Opaline Glass Luster, Late 19th C
    Located in Queens Village, NY
This luster takes the form of a goblet, and it is covered in stunning Islamic and Arabic motifs. There's a good chance that the product was made with the Turkish market in mind. It was created in France between the years 1850 and 1920, but the exact year is unknown. This particular luster has not even the slightest chip or crack in it. Because the artwork is not burned into the glass and some of it has been scratched out through the years, we are unable to come to a consensus regarding how old this item is. The gold and the paintings have both lost some of their color and sparkle as a result of the passage of time. We are selling this beautiful luster on different platforms; please check availability before purchasing. More photos may be provided if necessary. However, the exact year of its creation remained a mystery. Excited to show off her new find, Amina invited her friends over for a small gathering. As they admired the goblet's unique decorations and shimmering gold, Amina noticed her friend Ali studying it intently.
